SETTINGS: Windgate Creek

CURRENT GUARDIAN:
This City doesn't currently have a Guardian Position.Description
Formerly labled Catan’s Settle, the efforts of the 10th Doctor, Newt Scamander, Namur, Satou Kuroneko, Augustine Sycamore, Professor Kukui, Takumi, Uai and Papyrus brought about the true realization of the Town, restoring it to what it was meant to be.
This wild west desert town is surrounded by an old wooden fence, but it seems to do the job. The land is a bit of a mix as there are barren patches of earth, desert sand, thriving grass, or small forests peppering the town boundaries. The town itself seems to be located on a hilly area with a number of shrubs all throughout the uneven ground. All of the paths appear to be flat dirt, and the primary form of travel is by foot or horse. Within the town, a variety of businesses host your typical town functions, like drinking at the saloon, line-dancing, upholding the law, mining, selling wares, or wrangling cows. Just be careful when stepping outside of the city limits as there are wild animals in the surroundings.
Brighteye Lake
A dried up lake on the outside of town that used to be home to many fish. Though particularly harsh droughts plagued the area and lead to the lake being dried up, the outline of it still remains. On weeks or days where there is heavy rain, the water will start to pool here once more.
Circinae Canyon
A deep canyon miles away from the town. Centuries of running water through the area has cut a deep canyon in the earth, leaving a long running river as the bottom of it.
Dust Devil Corral
The corral is host to a number of animals. The owner, Betsy, will loan you one for a day for a fair price. If you don't return it by the day's end, though, contract says she has the right to shoot you and take her animal back. Best not to cross her... Animals for rent include horses, mules, donkeys, and trained hawks for hunting in the desert.
Ganister & Sons' General Goods
Everything you might need for your wild west adventures, from food, clothing, and supplies to advice not to purchase snake oil from the guy down the road. Ganister is the owner, but usually the front counter will have one of his identical triplet sons there. It's pretty hard to tell which one is which, and they don't usually mention they're triplets, but they will give you a hard time if you get their name wrong. Once you figure it out, though, they'll learn your name and give you excellent customer service every time you come in.
Heaven's Meadow Church
A church near the graveyard in town. Weddings and funerals alike are held upon the sacred grounds of this place. The church is staffed and tended to by three priests.
Kim's Hunter Shop
A shop inside of town owned by Kim, a member of a known hunting family that takes up residence in the town. Born and raised in a family of hunters lead to her gaining quite a bit on knowledge on the subject and eventually taking over the hunting shop from her father once he retired. A plethora of hunting equipment and utilities can be found here from bear traps to hunting rifles.
Millstone's Feed and Supply
Get food and supplies for your animals here. Mr. Millstone looks gruff but he's a kind man who'll help you out if you're in a pinch. Some of the townsfolk get pretty protective of him, especially his daughter over at the Dust Devil Corral.
Oakley's Smithys
Wood working, metal work/forge, plumbing, and general handiwork around the home. All done by a nice lady who won't overcharge you unless you give her flack.
The Six Ranches
As a reward for participating in the events that unlocked Windgate Creek to the general public, the deeds to six ranches were handed out. Each ranch specializes in one or two particular areas, and while it's still possible to work outside of said specialties, everything grown or produced from the specialty area is said to be unrivaled in quality. To occupy a vacant ranch, a character must be willing to work there full time. Please contact a mod to apply!

Sheriff's Station and Jail
This four-cell jail doesn't hold many people, but it'll hold 'em for as long as the sheriff needs. The Sheriff's desk is located across from the shelves, along with a number of boxes containing files with town information and prisoners' files. There's also a safe in which evidence is kept. Only the Sheriff knows how to open it.
Spirit's Eye Well
A well filled with fresh, clean water on the edge of town. Anyone can use or partake it in it. It is said that in the past, the well was a way of contacting and conversing with the spirits of the land, though it has seen been regarded as an old wives tale. The well does mysteriously stay clean, even if someone tries to contaminate the water.
Town Hall
A large building toward the center of town where town meetings are held, particularly about issues facing the town as a whole. As it's a small town, everyone in the community knows everyone else. Yelling isn't uncommon at town hall meetings, but with the Sheriff in charge, everyone typically behaves themselves at the open forums.
The Wild Horseman
The Wild Horseman is a saloon, complete with a bar and stage for all those fine singers looking to make it in a small western town. It's not a karaoke bar though, so don't try to sing if you aren't any good- you're likely to get all manner of things thrown at you. Drinks are fairly priced and the only time the bartender will stop you is if you get out of hand. There's a dartboard and a table reserved for poker. If you get caught cheating, no one's afraid to pull a gun on you if the sheriff isn't around, so it's best to follow the rules. The saloon is two stories, with more tables on the second floor on a balcony so you can see the first floor still- perfect for breaking the railing and falling during a brawl.
Water Tower
The water tower is where back-up water is stored. It's there in case of fires, emergency droughts, or any other reasons the town might need a surplus of clean water.
Windgate Creek Bank
The Windgate Creek Bank accepts red bills and will store them for you properly, but will also exchange gold, gems, and ores from the mines for cash if you are lucky enough to even find any.
Windgate Cemetery and The Undertaker's
The Cemetery is host to the local town's dead. Feel free to visit and leave flowers. The undertaker's office is located on the far end of the cemetery. They take custom orders for coffins if you're in the market! If your character dies in Windgate Creek, a gravestone will be made for them and it will appear in the cemetery. Creepy.
Windgate Post Office
The Windgate Creek post office. Letters and packages move and pass through this place all the time. If a resident or the town leaves a package here for someone, they will be notified that they need to come and pick it up.
