FAYREN

CURRENT GUARDIAN: PAPYRUS

LEGAL NOTICES: The following laws have been added by player characters in this city:
--

Description
A beautiful and rustic town with cobbled streets and buildings constructed primarily out of wood. There are several inns and taverns, a blacksmith's shop, and a few churches erected to various deities. Various races frequent this village, such as elves and dwarves, with the occasional rare being such as a minotaur or a gillman. Surrounding the town are a number of small farms, and beyond that lie enchanted forests, vast mountain ranges, and all kinds of mystical creatures, even dragons.

The Beach & Ocean
Fayren is known throughout Genessia for having the most pristine, most beautiful beaches. It's a long stretch and if you're the type to go swimming or sailing, there are at least a few miles of glittering blue ocean.

The Dancing Donner
The first floor is a pub that stays merry through the wee hours of the night, but the sound seems fairly well blocked-out in the small apartment space on the second level. There are only four rooms total for rent, but each has its own bathroom, wood stove, and comes fully furnished. Plus, the party is never far beneath your feet if you get bored.

The Drunken Monkey
A wild and rowdy tavern if ever there was one. The barmaids are plentiful and pretty, protected by the burly bouncers who are only too eager to pounce on a troublemaker and beat him senseless before tossing him in the dirty alley out back. The food is good and hot, and a roaring fireplace welcomes guests from the cold. Rooms are available on the second floor for those who are reluctant to go home for the night. Close to the bar is a raised stage for performers who happen to be traveling through looking to earn some coins, and there's a trio of musicians who are always on hand to provide lively music for those yearning for a jig.

Fawn's Forge
There are rumors that Fawn is part giantess, but for the most part, no one gives her flack about it. She makes the best weapons and armor in all the land. Without her forge, Fayren's knights would remain unprotected and unarmed. She only hires those she believes to be true of heart to assist her with her smithing.

Fish Market
In the harbor area, an open market for the day's catch is available. A variety of fishermen sell their catches from the sea. What's available may change based on the weather, and after a storm there will be less selection than days where the sea was kind to the fishermen. Due to Fayren's technology levels, the water in Fayren is the cleanest of all the archways, so the quality of fish is best from this market.

The Forest
A huge and largely uncharted forest, this environment takes up probably 80% of the Fayren archway. Most of the subarchway gates are located within the township. The forest itself is filled with creatures both mundane and magical and virtually no part is unlived in, even if you may not realize there's something nearby. It is not recommended that you upset the environment unless you want to face the consequences.

Guardian's Tower
A pagoda-styled structure built by former City Guardian Azula. Though the architecture style stands out from many of the other buildings, this one is fortified and has many Fire Nation-like qualities. It is now considered as an office for Fayren's current City Guardian.

Juliet's Lair - Owner: Grell Sutcliff
Juliet's Lair is a lingerie shop which will cater to high class buyers, those who have high tastes, and those who want to buy things discreetly via online service. Why does such a place need to exist? Well, not everyone wants to buy just any type of lingerie, and some people are shy or literally don't want their laundry known by all of the world. She can even go to a person's place of abode to outfit them with what they need at an extra cost. The store will be open only two days a week from the early evening until late at night, while orders online may be placed at any time.

Lake Bellaheim: Deep in the mountains exists a beautiful lake formerly covered by a large canopy. Beneath the lake's surface is an underwater village inhabited by a tribe of mermaids, the areas closest to the shore being vaguely visible. The mermaids are currently friendly toward strangers, albeit curious as it has been a long while since they've received visitors.

Other World's Teahouse
The Other World's Teahouse's entrance appears to just be a shack with a very fancifully written name across the front. Upon entry, the shack seems to have nothing but a large body mirror with a note that says "Welcome, step right in." Those brave enough to touch the mirror will realize it is a portal to a fanciful tea shop located in the center of Fayren's mountains, unreachable by foot with the best view of the mountain tops. Hot fresh tea is served loose leaf and by hand only. Please do not break any mirrors within the Teahouse.

Poultices, Potions, and Pinpricks!
Looking to get started on your way to being a proper magic? Check out Poultices and Pinpricks, seller of poultice charms, recipes, cauldrons, spinning wheels, totems, dowsing rods/stones, and more. It's like an outlet mall for magic all crammed into one very claustrophobic building. It's probably better to ask the owner, Mag the Magnificent, for exactly what you're looking for. Despite the clutter, she knows exactly where everything is at exactly the moment you ask for it. Perhaps it's some kind of strangely activated detection spell. Who knows.

Royal Castle and Ivory Tower
The king, queen, prince, and princess all dwell at the beautiful, alabaster castle, which is settled high on the hill to overlook the village of Fayren. Banners of red and gold fly from the towers, matching the tunics of the royal guards who patrol the stone halls. The tallest spire is that of the Ivory Tower, where magicians and spellcasters of all kinds gather to study and learn their art. The two teachers are Trynn and Rameus, a young wedded couple. Trynn teaches white magic and healing spells, while her husband Rameus teaches offensive spells and combat capabilities.

Schnee Company: Fayren Branch - Owner: Winter Schnee
Located near archway entrance inside Fayren, Schnee Company provides information and services in order to help newcomers to Fayren adjust to a more traditional technology level, travel services, finding housing and employment within the city, basic maintenance of city events and planning, as well as travel planning and assistance with public transportation services. A subsidiary of the welcoming branch and headquarters in Genessia, this branch of Schnee Company focuses on Fayren-relevant services. Schnee Company offers workshops on horseback riding, agriculture, magic, and much more in addition to their usual services.

The Singing Meadows
A flowery meadow with a number of reed-like plants. When the winds blow through the reeds, it sounds like the meadow is singing. It's a lovely sound, and a wonderful place to relax.

Sir Cedric's School for Squires
Sir Cedric's teaches those of all ages in the art of physical combat with various weapons befitting the age of knights. This is not a school for magicians, this is a school for those wishing to learn or teach swordsmanship, archery, mace work, shield work, how to use a catapult, and more. Note: Sir Cedric may teach combat, but does not have the right to knight anyone. You must be knighted by the king and queen of Fayren, but here you may learn the chivalrous path. Those who do not follow the code of chivalry will be removed from the grounds and asked not to return.

Underground Waterways
A long abandoned sewer system filled with running water, twisting corridors, and plenty of creatures that now make it their home. It's been said to even have become a font of magic, a place so riddled with magical energies that strange things could be found there such as glowing mushrooms and other magic-infused fauna. Dangerous monsters lurk there, feeding off the old magicks, but it is home to many great alchemical resources as well.

Current Archways Activated
Archangel City - Activated by Anastasia Leonhart
Click for more information.

King's Landing - Activated by Daenerys Targaryen
King's Landing is the largest city within the Seven Kingdoms, with a population of approximately 500,000. It is located on a bay called the Blackwater and, usually, the weather is quite warm. Since Winter has come, however, the ruins of the city are covered in ash and snow. This is a map of the layout of the city and, as you can see, The Great Sept of Baelor is at the very center - or, rather, it was before its explosion. Then on one of the far ends, near Flea Bottom and bordered by the Blackwater Bay is the Red Keep - otherwise known as the location of the Iron Throne. The buildings, houses, monuments and so forth are mostly in ruins now thanks to Daenerys and Drogon. The entire city was more or less set ablaze by dragon-fire and tens of thousands of people died. Furthermore, after Daenerys's death, Drogon melted the Iron Throne. But the city is still an impressive, if ghostly, sight.

Monster Island - Activated by Android 17
n island off the coast somewhere in the DBZ world (Earth). It's inhabited with various creatures and monsters including a rare Minotaurus. There are common animals to rare creatures such as unicorns. There's a beach on one side, jungle in the middle, mountain ranges, deserts in one part, caves, and even a forest with a waterfall. It can inhabit almost any creature and monster, an ideal paradise for them. Close by, there is another island, much smaller and more resident where a cabin is, Seventeen's house.

Mount Canaa/Lake Purity - Activated by Mewtwo
Located on the largest mountain in the Jhoto Region, Mount Canaa is a unique geological formation, holding a crater-like formation at its summit. Within the crater, are lush forests, and a lake containing crystal clear waters with unique healing properly. The forests provide habitats for a wide variety of Pokemon native to the Jhoto Region, though the trees and water make it an ideal spot for bug-type Pokemon to come to mate, though bugs are hardly the only Pokemon to call the area home. Within the center of the lake is an island, that seems to have been an ancient fortress of some sort. There is an enclosed dock for boats to come and go from, with stairs leading up into the fort itself. The stairs lead to a large sheltered meadow with flowers and berry trees thriving around a central pond containing the spring that feeds the outside lake. The area's unique geological formation also makes it susceptible to harsh weather conditions, often shifting on an hourly basis, the mountain is often buffeted on all sides by intense storms that all but prevent normal methods of scaling the mountain, though the crater remains relatively sheltered. Old Hell/Chireiden - Activated by Koishi Komeiji
Hidden in the underground waterway is the archway to The Palace of the Earth Spirits. It is a massive three story building consisting of a strange mix of Gothic and Russian architecture. It towers above the sprawling expanse of a well tended garden filled with a wide variety of plants as well as animals kept as pets. It is illuminated by a large number of spherical lamps on metal posts, each one giving off a good bit of light and heat. The inside is well kept and just as impressive as the exterior and is filled with massive frescos inlaid with gold and ivory with marble floors and furniture made of velvet and rich, polished wood. It is lit by similar lights as the exterior as well as the faceted multicolored glow that filtered though the many stained glass windows. Its grandeur only marred by the many holes bored through the various walls, ceilings, and floors to make room for rumbling steam pipes of various sizes as well as a variety of draping electrical cables. More information.

Sphinx Island - Activated by Marco
One Piece 909, the chapter in which Whitebeard's home island appears. The island is shaped like a smokestack, and the outer coastline is covered in the crumbling ruins of a once prosperous town, terraced along the mountainside. Several dense stands of pine trees have taken root amid the rocks and ruins. A waterfall cascades down the side of the mountain, obscuring a long, dark tunnel which opens up on a valley in the center of the island. The valley is verdant and lush, home to a quaint village, where people have domesticated sphynxes. Marco has a two story log cabin with a waterwheel. Adjacent to the island are Whitebeard and Ace's memorials, which are considered to be a part of the town.

Beacon, Vale - Activated by Yang Xiao Long
A slightly more modern town compared to most fantasy world standards, as it features cars, trains, and aircraft as well as holographic projections. But it's not uncommon to see people wearing armor and carrying weapons and shields around with them. Energy is primarily derived from Dust, sold in powdered or crystal form, attributed to different elements. Dust is often used to power weapons as well. However, outside of the towns, one must be wary lest one risk an encounter with the creatures of Grimm - soulless monsters bent on the destruction of mankind.

Ylisstol - Activated by Robin
The capital city of Ylisse. It is a peaceful, tranquil nation that was ruled by the Exalt. People of this nation worship the holy dragon, Naga, as their god. Due to their disdain for fighting, only a minimal amount of soldiers defend the country. However, Ylisse does have an army of its own, mostly comprising Cavaliers, Mages, Clerics, Priests, and Pegasus Knights. Ylisstol itself is a thriving and lively city, with cobblestone roads and stone houses. The roads are lined with people and the market is always open during the day, selling anything from food to weapons. There is a magnificent castle there as well which houses all members of the royal family.
